Dhakal is an Assistant Professor of English at Koteshwor Multiple Campus, Kathmandu, Nepal, affiliated with Tribhuvan University. He teaches Managerial Communication and Research Methodology in English Education to the Master’s Level students. He also serves as the Head of Research Management Cell (RMC) of this campus. He initiates, coordinates, and also monitors the faculties and students in conducting different types of research, project works, and the dissertations. 

In his research, Mr. Dhakal has explored cultural identity, regional conflict, and the socio-political dimensions of ethnic movements in Nepal. His notable work includes a comprehensive analysis of the Madhesh Movement of 2015, as well as studies on Nepal–India borderland identities and heritage conservation, digital humanities, and memory studies. He has been working as the editor of KMC Research Journal for seven years. He is also associated with the South Asian Foundation for Academic Research (SAFAR) as an academic counselor and researcher. Mr. Dhakal has two decades of teaching experience at the school and university level in Nepal. He is interested in doing research on socio-cultural and environmental issues along with literary criticism. He has studied MA in English from Tribhuvan University and MPhil in English from Pokhara University, Nepal.  He has written and edited English textbooks of elementary schools that have been taught all over Nepal.
